The best time to move him will be post June 1st. Finding a trading partner that is willing to dole out pick(s) for a talented $12M/yr headcase could be prohibitive.

Cap hit for the trading partner is what I was referring to. I think the post June 1st trade scenario tab on that site is screwed a bit. Should be $14M in dead money and $8M in cap space gained via trade post June 1st?!

Regardless, if he wants a trade now, it probably won't happen until June.

Id say teach him a lesson and trade him to the Browns, but they would be really fucking good with him

Not the first time AB has said something like that. Whether it’s “I’m done with this” or “if you aren’t going to use me then trade me” type of comments... Same shit, different year.

Tomlin will sweep it under the rug in his Wednesday presser. Like he always does.

I feel like it would be a total Jets move to give up multiple 1sts for Brown, signed Bell this offseason to 18 mil per, and still miss the playoffs next year

I find it telling that, despite the immense talent that AB is, arguably the best in the game right now, how many fans of other teams are saying no thanks to the idea of their team trading for him and how many Steelers fans wouldn't mind if he were traded away.

To the OP: I think you are going to find his trade market value is close to zero.

1) He has a huge contract, which Pittsburgh can't even begin getting out of until after June 1, well into the offseason.

2) He's clearly a major cancer on any locker room.

3) He's past 30, the age at which most players begin to slow down.

Put it all together and you are asking a team to take a huge cap hit for an aging star with a long, demonstrated record of being a selfish douche bag. Not going to be too many takers for that.

He'll likely be wearing black and gold next season, unless he is cut. Then maybe a team with a strong coach like the Patriots takes a flyer on him, assuming he lowers his salary demands, which one cannot assume with AB.

While I agree with the sentiment here as well as the cap hit issue AB would have little trouble finding a team who wants him.

Right now the Jets have $119M under the present cap. If the cap gets pushed to 185M, the Jets will have $130M. They could easily trade for both Bell and Brown and still be $100M under the cap. If they get a shrewd head coach and hefilled the needs of the jets with good drafting and free agent pick ups, the jets could easily by-pass the Patriots and win the East next year.

Darnald, Bell, Brown would be a hell of a start.

The Steelers will never take a 20+M dollar cap hit.

Brown isn’t going anywhere.

According to Jason Full-of-Shit Canfora.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true. His talent is being wasted in Pittsburgh.

What teams do you think would be interested?

OAK would be a great trade partner.

Actually I think his production might go down if he is traded...at least until he gets in sync with his new QB.

If what I'm hearing is true, if Tomlin wants to get any clout back in the locker room, grow a pair and move AB.
