If only Stafford had a great receiver he would have won multiple rings by now. Oh wait...

I floated this idea as Marvin Jones pulled the same nonsense AB did at the end of the season. They could flip WRs and 1st round picks and save face. I am sure Darrell Bevell could do wonders with AB considering he has a beast in Kenny G on the other side and Kerryon Johnson in the backfield. Just need a TE and Stafford would be unstoppable.

Wait the same Darrell Bevell that had Russell Wilson throw the ball instead of handing it to Lynch in Super Bowl whatever against the Pats?

Fuck Antonio Brown I wouldn't trade him, just tell him, the only team wanted was Buffalo, you said you were too good to go there. I guess you're retiring than.

Only 30. Most great WR's can play at a pretty high level until they are AT LEAST 34 or even higher. Whoever gets him has 3-4 at least of very good to great production, probably elite production the next couple depending on injuries. It's just that ego, which is a big thing.

That list actually supported what I was saying. Other than Steve Smith and Anquan Boldin, no older WR has really done that well in their mid-30s in a decade. They listed Andre Johnson, Chad Johnson, Wes Welker, and Brandon Marshall as other stud WRs who fell off severely once they hit their mid-30s.

People have been saying this for years now. At what point do we just fess up and say he is simply not that great of QB?

I put him in the Kirk Cousins box. Big inflated numbers when it doesn't matter. Staffored is a a great "garbage time" QB.

Ten years ago.

You dont really know what you have in a QB until year 11:heh:

Yes. He also won a super bowl. He had that one won as well if not for that 1 mistake. He took an offense that had marginal players and won with it.

Yeah, the drop off on WRs is probably closer to mid-30s but with RBs its 30 so there is some wiggle room to justify an Antonio Brown contract. You just need to make sure you have an 'out' in the contract after 3-4 years. His current contract is fine.

I think for the most part you are right. I would add Reggie Wayne to your list of those who did well though. He was pretty solid right up until he walked away. 106/1355 at age 34 and 64/ 779 at age 36 with 12 2.2 y/r not altogether terrible either as a secondary target.

Oh absolutely. I'm definitely not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it's not likely. In addition to those I mentioned, we've it recently with Demaryious Thomas, Eric Decker, Jeremy Maclin, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Pierre Garcon, Desean Jackson, etc.

I wonder if his nixing his 1st trade will hurt his value? Guy has talent in spades but he just nixed a trade, will that scare teams off?

I don't think it hurts him. It's a resource game at this point. Every player has a total resource value. It's either in player pay or pay and trade cost. The more a team has to give up in trade the less it is willing to pay the player. The Steelers are trying to get the most they can for their resource. Brown is done with the Steelers so he's playing the same game by minimizing what the Steelers get in trade compensation. If Brown can be got for a lesser pick the new trading team is more likely to be willing to increase his pay. If he can alienate the Steelers into releasing him he should be able to get a much better deal as a FA.

MQB's Albert Breer reports Antonio Brown wants to be the highest-paid receiver in the league.
According to Breer, the deal with the Bills dissolved in part because of Brown's contract demands, and the same thing happened with another potential suitor earlier in the week. Brown recently said he is "going to play by [his] rules," and those rules seem to include a raise on the little over $12 million per year he is scheduled to make the next three seasons. Unless he is willing to walk back those contract demands, the Steelers will have a tough time moving him despite his immense talent.

If Pitt wants to stick it to AB — trade him to Detroit. He will retire midway thru year 1 here.

Truly elite players would rather retire at 30 than play for Detroit.

Barry Sanders — retired at 30
Calvin Johnson — retired at 30
Antonio Brown — ...............?

Pitt would never have to worry about playing against him.
