Rendon has signed a 7 year 245 million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Angels.

Good for the Angels, that lineup is looking much better:

Fletcher/LaStella 2B-Trout CF-Rendon 3B-Ohtani DH-Upton LF-Simmons SS-Pujols 1B-Adell RF (if he's ready)-Stassi C.

That said, they likely need to find a combination of players that leads to ~20 wins to make the playoffs. Rendon is a great start. They probably need a combination of Keuchel/Ryu/Bumgarner/Teheran or a trade for a pitcher. I know they've been linked with Kluber; he'd be a great match. Trade for Kluber and add one of those guys and they're looking very solid.

The Angels are the epitome of teams that overpay for players. Second only to the Mets.

It hurts to lose Rendon as he had only ever been in the Nationals organization. But it would’ve been nice for him to go somewhere he could be a contender and that didn’t seem like just an obvious cash grab.

It always seams that Maddon gets his teams (TB, CHC) in contention quickly once he arrives and I see nothing changing with the Angels. He is a manager IMO who truly gets it to work by being a player's manager. And he is NEVER afraid to give the possible diamond in the rough a chance to show what they are made of.

I am still pissed I went to Los Angeles this past weekend. Went to the Dodgers stadium and it was electric, amazing atmosphere. Went to an Angels game and it was dead. Ohtani sat out. Pussy boy Trout was out. To add to it, Rutschman only missed 3 games all year-he was out. Disgusting. Their lineup was trash.
