I have my reasons for saying this. This is only partially due to what is happening on the ice.

Interesting, I guess I really don't care who owns the team..... As long as they spend the money on players and and higher the right people to do hockey stuff and stay out of it other than that....

He collects rent from the Lakers, Kings and Clippers - highly doubt that will happen. The Kings are a very small dent in his portfolio, probably not worth his time and he used them to build Staples and renovate DTLA.

He has never publicly put any handcuffs on the team. He is really a hands off owner. He could give an internal cap like Arizona and prevent spending. I don’t think he had. Sure the Kings haven’t spent to the cap but I think he would allow it.

Pretty much, although before the cap the Kings did have an internal cap, I think it was about $50 million.

Taylor alluded to it during the Blake fiasco in 2001, saying he didn't want to spend 20% of their budget on one player (final offer for Blake was $8.5 million x 5 years, budget was roughly $50 million in that case).

Anaheim still continues to have an internal cap, I can't remember a time they didn't. That has to be frustrating as a GM, Bowlby does not have those restraints on him and has the green light to spend to the max if needed.

Just thought of this too while on the cap, the first cap in 2005 was $39 million. It's what, $81 million now?

More than doubled in the 15 years since inception. Insane.
