No, you're missing the point. It doesn't matter if all 3 sports pay their players 50% of the revenue. The fact is, NBA players are always going to make more money than NFL players because there are far fewer NBA players than there are NFL players.

There are approximately 450 NBA players splitting that 50%. There are approximately 1700 NFL players (not counting the "taxi squad" players) splitting their 50%.

Additionally, the CBA rules are negotiated between the owners and the players unions...so, if you need to cry, maybe cry about why the NFL has such a weak ass players union.

Lebron and any other superstar takes it in the rear because of the cap. They make the league and their teams far more money than they ever get paid. It was the same for Kobe, Shaq, MJ, Bird...etc., etc.

No superstar level players, in any sport, ever get paid what they are truly worth when you consider how much they make for their teams and the league.

Hell, even with his huge contract and all that deferred money, Shohei Ohtani will never make anywhere near as much money as he brings in for the Dodgers and MLB.

Yes. Weak ass union. NBA players can make more because their cap isn't nearly the "hard cap" that NFL teams have and again, there are far more players splitting that money in the NFL.

The NBA has "exceptions" that allow teams to exceed the cap...it's just a matter of whether or not ownership is willing to pay the "tax" that is levied for exceeding the cap. Many owners will do exactly that if they feel their team is in a championship window or close.

MLB players have it even better because there isn't a cap.

The NFL players union needs to try to at least negotiate some of the "exceptions" like the NBA has so teams can exceed the cap if they're willing to pay the tax. But they haven't been able to do that.

It isn’t just the cap. It is the max contract structure.

Players like LeBron who are truly at the top of the top would have made far more than max money he got if there was no such thing as a max contract.

Now, he did just fine and all that…

But what a max contract does is it restricts the earning possibility of the very elite and it actually makes it so that many players who don’t deserve to end up getting paid like a tier 1 superstar.

You get players switching teams every year and players sitting out of games just for the hell of it and it makes fans not even want to spend money. And let's not get started on how wonderful it's been for college sports as we now see how selfish will players and agents get when there are no rules to hold them back.

As for college could they adopt more rules as far as transferring and NIL? Sure.....but no issue with both being a thing now. Seems a tad more fair for the players.
