Angel Hernandez is the worst umpire in baseball!

Sir Robin Of Camelot

You seem angry. Miserable, even.

The US government has officially stated that he is not a good umpire.

True story.

His game from last night is getting a lot of attention. LOL

Why, though? It isn’t like this is anything new.

A couple of years back when they didn't give him a playoff assignment he accused MLB and Joe Torre of being racist. How can anyone be this clueless. MLB should insist he be fired and if the ump union doesn't go along with it they should fire them all in the offseason and bring in others from the minors. How much worse could it be?

probably gets himself suspended
funny part it wasnt his worse call

most likely will get after that "albeit" correct outburst... But yes, that was a borderline call and certainly not his worst call of the night by far

I honestly don’t understand why last nights game is getting all the attention it is getting. That game was pretty much par for the course for Hernandez.
It's a cumulative thing. I think the ESPN guys mentioned his history a few times and he came through with a stellar performance. If I was a conspiracy theorist I might suggest that mlb and ESPN purposely set it up so that he was behind the plate in the national game, then made sure some social media "influencers" all highlighted his bad performance so maybe they can fire him some day.

Yeah...fuck that guy.
He's got a long bad history of being an instigator, confrontational, argumentative, biased, arrogant, wrong far too many times.
I mean the list just goes on & on. He should've been purged from the MLB umpiring ranks long ago.

Very :tinfoil3: but possible, I guess.

I forgot that that game was the ESPN national game. That makes sense that it would get more attention. But still, Angel gonna Angel. No one who knows anything about the game, even at arms length, knows Angel is a joke.

Yep, over the tenure of his umpire career I’m pretty certain I’ve seen him call strikes when there’s dirt on the fucking ball. Lol

That was by no means his worst call. It was less than a ball high. He called a strike on a pitch that was at least 4 inches outside and a ball on a pitch that was around the belt and caught at least a ball over the plate.

How does this guy DECIDE to remain an umpire? He has been a national joke for years. How thick is his skin to not hear the jeers thrown his way?

I don’t care how much he gets paid (within reason), it can’t be worth that much. He is universally hated. That can not be healthy for his own mental health.

After having this career for so long, I’m thinking he might enjoy the attention/controversy, because he’s certainly gonna be remembered after he’s gone.

I think it actually is the opposite. I think pissing people off actually pleases him.

Sure the money is nice, but it's so much fun to be terrible at his job and be a complete dick about it, knowing that there is nothing that anybody can do to him because he's juiced in.
