Another weapon to take advantage of the middle of the field.

With Jones and Green commanding safety help, that is going to leave a lot of room for the TE's and Slot guys to work the middle of the field, which is a strength for Dalton due to the nature of the short throws.

I know you won't believe this, but Clements was the best graded safety on the team by PFF besides Nelson last year.

Clements played 343 snaps combined at both safety positions in 2012. His grade for those snaps was +4.7........that included +2.0 playing every snap of the playoff game. He was also -6.6 for his snaps at corner.

There's obvious selection bias going on there though.... I'm assuming that he played safety in known passing situations and his job was not much different than playing zone as a corner - Something he could still do in his advanced age. That's far different than being a starting safety in this league.
