The big question is, why are the two sides just now starting to work out these details? They've had months to be working on this
I guess they were thinking, back in March, that this would have died down by the time camps started. Doesn't look that way now, and they didn't appear to work on any contingency plans. Goodell was too busy crafting a BLM response

How can there possibly be a season this year? What's any different?

Also probably thinking they can see what the other leagues like the NBA and MLB would do and try to model it after them but it seems like each league is struggling the NFL cant just have a bubble type set up play on the same fields and I doubt the NFL would do like the MLB and take away 80% of their games and have a 4 game season and a playoffs

I think a season this year would show just how little the owners really care about these athletes and how much more they care about money.

The fact that they are starting at 40% means they are probably willing to settle at 20%. Everyone takes a 20% cut this year and go from there. They can devise a plan for next year and forward for these types of things.

Exactly, a very different season than the other sports. If you're not going to play at least 12 games there's a big asterisk

The NFL accepted the NFLPA's demand of zero preseason games ahead of the 2020 season.
This is a gigantic step towards having the season start on time. The NFL has slowly inched towards the NFLPA's side of this argument, initially requesting two preseason games, then down to one and now agreeing to none. This will allow for a longer acclimation and strength and conditioning period for players once arriving at team facilities, as teams can now take their time to practice rather than prepare for games. Still, you have to feel for fringe NFL talents who simply won't have the opportunity to put their game on tape for other teams to see in the hopes of maximizing their opportunities. Think of names like Victor Cruz, or even recently Raheem Mostert, as players who have greatly benefited from preseason action.

e NFLPA reports its membership has had 95 positive tests for COVID-19.
This presumably means since March, but that is still 3.2 percent of the workforce before hardly anyone has even reported for training camp and mandatory testing. It underscores the widespread nature of the disease, as well as the challenges a contact sport with massive rosters and personnel groups is going to face in containing it.

Well if Diana Russini reported it than it must be true she must have sucked a powerful dick to get that information

She did.

Joke's on her though. I made it all up.
