Interesting take on it by 247sports

The Huskies have all the tools and weapons needed to make a serious run at the conference title this year, according to Lindy's newest Pac-12 preview...

While there's still some publications that haven't made their way to our local magazine racks yet, we did pick up a copy of Lindy's. Of course, the teams predicted to be the strongest in the conference this year are:
Stanford
UCLA
Oregon
Washington
USC

But these magazine predictions seldom have any bearing on the final outcome of a season, however, Husky fans should be pleased to see that there's a lot of attention being given to Austin Sefarian-Jenkins, Kasen Williams, and Bishop Sankey.

There's not a lot of hype around Keith Price, simply because most pundits have a "wait and see" mindset on Price. If he had had the same season last year he had his first year starting, we might be talking about him in the Heisman race right now, however last season set Price back in terms of his national recognition.

Also mentioned is Shaq Thompson. With his move to linebacker the Husky linebacking corps is getting mentions here and there throughout the magazine.

Sefarian-Jenkins is ranked #1 in the country for tight-ends, and is ranked #10 among all players in the nation as far as his NFL draft considerations. He's also predicted to be All American.
Bishop Sankey is listed as the #5 running back in the country, and Kasen Williams is listed as the #14 wide receiver. Shaq Thompson is listed as the #11 outside linebacker in the country.

The Huskies, overall, are ranked #30 for now, which will likely be an area where they fall in when the new polls come out. But with Boise State likely ranked in the top 25, the Huskies could very well find themselves in the Top 25 should they beat the Broncos in Seattle in the opener.

Lindy's predicted the North to be led by Stanford, Oregon, and Washington. The only criticism of Washington at this point is the uncertainty of line play -- however -- we cover the Huskies and that is not a concern for most in the UW new corps. The offensive line will be better this year, without question. It may be popular to complain about them but they will be better.
The defensive line will also be continuing on with what they started last year -- in making the leap from the bottom of the cellar to one of the nation's top 30 defenses.

I like the #5 place ranking for Sankey, that comment about the OL shouldn't matter, there going to be better and for Sankey to run behind this big line is going to be fun to watch.....

As long as the injury bug doesn't hit the Oline and RBs corps like last year, Sankey and especially Price are in business. I think a lot of the "Which Price do we get in 2013? 2011 or 2012 versions?" will be put aside once the season starts if the Oline and RB depth is there. Both units look to be vastly better this year at depth.

Enough about the O, its defense that I believe is going to be the best side this year, Shaq Thompson at OLB is going to be frickn awesome, that guys speed and size hes going to in the back fields a ton of times....

:agree: :suds:

The LB corps with players like Timu, Thompson, Fuimaono, Tutogi, Kearse, Feeney are going to be beasts this year. Then add Parker at S laying serious lumber down. Lots of experience there. LB and DB corps came on so strong as the season went on last year.

I'm very high on this D this year. Looking real good. Loaded.
