Am I the only one who doesn't care if the footballs were deflated?

You have to realize you are dealing with 2 of the most agenda or biased driven entities on the planet.

The media: Who's core mission is to drive a narrative directly where they want it to go. And that's usually in the opposite direction then the road the truth is on.

The sports world: Competition is extremely fierce. Be it between fans, players or the sports organizations. You could not throw a rock 3 feet in the direction of any of the 3 and not hit one void of a pre-existing ax to grind with any team in that particular league.

If it is proven the Pats intentionally cheated, then they should punished. Especially since that had a chance to come clean on air and still denied it.

But in the end, I still find half of this to be a manufactured shit storm. Blown out of proportion by people with a motive and using justice to hide it.

I really do feel sorry for you. You should be enjoying this moment. The chance for your QB and franchise to go down with the greatest of all greats the NFL has ever seen. Instead your QB and organization will always be remembered as cheaters. But hey atleast you don't think they are and that's all that really matters.

They'll only be remembered that way but butt hurt fans of teams that lost to them. You seem to be leading the charge.

Because intentionally losing football games to secure a particular draft pick doesn't affect the integrity of the game at all. Or intentionally losing a football game to get a certain other team into the playoffs doesn't affect the integrity of the game at all.

Hypocrite much?:wtf2:

NFL Statement
Our office has been conducting an investigation as to whether the footballs used in last Sunday’s
AFC Championship Game complied with the specifications that are set forth in the playing rules. The
investigation began based on information that suggested that the game balls used by the New
England Patriots were not properly inflated to levels required by the playing rules, specifically Playing
Rule 2, Section 1, which requires that the ball be inflated to between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per
square inch. Prior to the game, the game officials inspect the footballs to be used by each team and
confirm that this standard is satisfied, which was done before last Sunday’s game.
The investigation is being led jointly by NFL Executive Vice President Jeff Pash and Ted Wells of the
law firm of Paul Weiss. Mr. Wells and his firm bring additional expertise and a valuable independent
perspective. The investigation began promptly on Sunday night. Over the past several days, nearly
40 interviews have been conducted, including of Patriots personnel, game officials, and third parties
with relevant information and expertise. We have obtained and are continuing to obtain additional
information, including video and other electronic information and physical evidence. We have retained
Renaissance Associates, an investigatory firm with sophisticated forensic expertise to assist in
reviewing electronic and video information.
The playing rules are intended to protect the fairness and integrity of our games. We take seriously
claims that those rules have been violated and will fully investigate this matter without compromise or
delay. The investigation is ongoing, will be thorough and objective, and is being pursued
expeditiously. In the coming days, we expect to conduct numerous additional interviews, examine
video and other forensic evidence, as well as relevant physical evidence. While the evidence thus far
supports the conclusion that footballs that were under-inflated were used by the Patriots in the first
half, the footballs were properly inflated for the second half and confirmed at the conclusion of the
game to have remained properly inflated. The goals of the investigation will be to determine the
explanation for why footballs used in the game were not in compliance with the playing rules and
specifically whether any noncompliance was the result of deliberate action. We have not made any
judgments on these points and will not do so until we have concluded our investigation and
considered all of the relevant evidence.
Upon being advised of the investigation, the Patriots promptly pledged their full cooperation and have
made their personnel and other information available to us upon request. Our investigation will seek
information from any and all relevant sources and we expect full cooperation from other clubs as well.
As we develop more information and are in a position to reach conclusions, we will share them

So the NFL has stated that the official checked the balls prior to the game and also said that he used a pressure gauge to do so. I heard there was like 50 or so cameras that are all recording. So unless BB, TB or the Patriots ball boy is captured tampering with the balls this is all for nothing.

If the evidence comes back and shows tampering then I am 100% on board with everyone who thinks the Patriots should be penalized including suspensions and such. Unfortunately there is probably 0 chance of that report coming out until well after the SB. I wish it would come out today.

Lol, the Colts didn't "intentionally" lose games. Nobody capable of rational thought believes that. On the flip side, Brady and the Pats have actually removed themselves from any GOAT discussions. Whenever they are brought up there will always be the disclaimer that they were lairs and cheaters. That's just reality.

Actually it's commonly believed, and the funny thing is, no one really cares that they did. This sort of stuff happens all the time. Only a fool believes it hasn't been part of the game since the beginning days. The Pats dominance of winning over the last decade and and a half has more to do with all the ******* than anything.

Go digging around, you'll find something on every team. Usually teams just look the other way because they know there are things they are doing that could be called into question as well.

The footballs being slightly under required pressure, slightly because it's not like they were flat, is the about the same as a hockey player using a stick that's curved beyond league rules. In hockey the stick is removed and the player gets a 2 minute minor. You know why? Because it's not that big of a fning deal in the overall game.
