Money?? Where is the money coming from??

Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith Njigba just got his rookie contract extended................4 Years $168.6M.

KC Chiefs TE Travis Kelce signed a 3 year $54M contract yesterday. (KC had $9.7M of cap space last time I checked)

Think about this.................Jerry Jones and George Pickens were arguing about Pickens getting $30M a year and Jone Franchised him at #27.5M for 2026. No way he reports.

Rams were about to extend Puka. The Seahawks just gave him a new number to seek.

Seriously, where does this end? How many people will pay $100 for a semi hot hot dog and a luke warm 16.7 oz bottle of beer? Or $25 for a 20 oz bottle of coke or pepsi?

Everybody in New York!
Because the cost of living is so high in NYC that Mamdani will make sure the minimum wage will be high enough that everyone can afford it.

Until that drives the cost up to $150 for that hot dog and beer so they can afford to pay that minimum wage....which means the minimum wage will have to go up again...Which of course will drive...

The Governor of NY told the billionaires and millionaires that NY didn't need them back in 2021and told them to go. So many of them left and took their businesses with them. Last week she begged them all to come back and bring their businesses with them.

Quote: Bring your money and help us pay for our wonderful social programs.

She told them all to phuck off so they went to states with no income tax. Now they get to keep 34% more of their money and she's berggibg them to give it to her so that she can help Mandami pay $50 an hour social workers???

Like I said previously, I've been watching the games of 2025 season. I got to game 5 against the Bills in Buffalo.

One thing I noticed is that several of the players who have signed elsewhere never made it on the field until Spillane and Landry were sidelined.

Campbell was replaced by Lowe and on a 4th and a half yard, Lowe was called for illegal motion and the drive was killed.

I decided to move back to the playioffs and one thing I never noticed in the Houston game was that Rhamonde Stevenson was on the sideline nursing a poked eye. Gibson was actually injured in the Buffalo game and missed the rest of the season with a blown knee.

In the Houston game, Maye had his 13th fumble of the year. Campbell was pushed back by the All-Pro Edge but Henderson was supposed to chip him and then float out into the gap. He ran right by and and cut at the line of scrimmage and not out into the flat. Wil Anderson slapped Maye's hand and fortunately Moses was able to recover. CJ Stroud had thrown his fiourth INT to give the Patriots the ball on the Houston 47. Patriots punted from their own 45.

The Patriots had a lot of mistakes in 2025 and were lucky to have an nbeaten run of 13 games going into the Super Bowl. But watchuing the teams they played, I don't think that any of them, including every AFC in the playoffs could have done any better against the Seahawks.

2026 will be a true test of the staff's signing and drafting as well as players stepping up against a much tougher schedule.

IMO, there are several things that need as much attention as personnel in 2026.

Quarterback.

1. Maye absolutely has to protect the ball better. 16 Fumbles was 16 too many. Losing 12 was unacceptable.

O-Line

1. Reduce the number of QB sacks by at least half. Fifty six during the regular season and fourteen in the playoffs was unacceptable at any level. Every sack should be closely examined and evaluated and then make decidions on positional problems and what can be done or not be done.

2. Have second and third opinions on Campbell's knee. No one is talking about the fact that at least one MD felt he should have had minor surgery to repair and improve that right knee. Campbell didn't want surgery and said, "It just needs rest. Not surgery." And he got his medical degree where?? I predict that he'll be on the sideline before Week 4.

Linebacker

Spillane and Landry were Vrabel guys and both spent roughly six weeks not playing. Anfree jennings did noit have a spectacular season but was a stud for all four playoff games. Might be wise to see if he'd be willing to come back and then give him more playing time.

Tahvai was excellent in the playoffs and now he's gone. He was a de-Fence in the middle against the run.

Safety

There is a great need for a replacement for Ball-Hawkins.

Bleach Report and ESPN have started mentioning Campbell's knee. Bleacher Report called is 'serious' and questioned not having it medically repaired.

If you can, go back to the Houston playoff game. Against Wil Anderson, Campbell gave up two sacks, two forced fumbles and five QB Pressures. No question, Anderson is a two time All-Pro, but he pretty much had ghis way with Campbell. Interesting comment by the color guy was that Anderson was usually on the right side and Hunter on the left. Head Coach Ryans must have seen the problems Campbell had against the Chargers trhe week before and figured Anderson would do much better against Campbell than Moses.

Not trying to start anything, but I rewtached that game last night and Campbell was horrible against Anderson. Interesting point at the end of three quarters. Houston was down 21-13 yest had 163 Total Yards while the Patriots had on 138 Total Yards. Neither offense had anything to crow about.

I won't value the opinion of any sports writer over that of a medical professional it click bait. Campbell I'm sure worked this off season on his weaknesses, Vrabel seems confident so the opinions of Bleacher Report or ESPN carry no wait IMO. Still drafting an OT should be very high on the draft board.

Like I wrote previously, one doctor, don't know it was the Patriots' team MD, said that Campbell should have minor surgery to repair then damage to his knee. Campbell refused to listen and said, and I quote, "I don't need surgery. It just needs some rest." My point here is that Campbell isn't an MD either and he's not looking for clicks. I have to ask if he has a fear of surgery. All he has to do is ask Stephin Diggs whether or not surgery is a better option than rest.

I won't question whether or not he's worked out this off season. We can only hope that he's been able to do what's necessary to build up the strength in that leg. Mack, Anderson and Jones pushed him all over the field because his right leg just couldn't plant and allow him to push back or recover fast enough to catch them when they moved him and went by.

If he had the procedure right after the Super Bowl, he'd have been in Rwehab about two weeks ago and be working on that knee. With improved procedures and updated recovery, he might be able to be back on the field in eight months . (October 2026) Maybe sooner..

What are the chances he'll make it all the way through 2026?

Better draft a damn good LT.

So what are we talking about one doctor that never saw the X-ray of the MRI just an opinion based on how we walked it makes no sense. And I don't think anyone here is a verse to taking a left tackle with the first or second pick you know we just have to decide what's the priority Edge or tackle

Knee injuries with cartilage tears or minor tears are best rehabbed with rest.
Surgery can sometimes speed up these rehabs.
Once you get knee surgery, you are almost guaranteed arthritis and earler onset.
I did pretty good avoiding surgery until I hit 70.
Several of my doctors had told me to stay away from surgeons.
They always recommend surgery!

I have what's left of a heel spur on back of my heel. Orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery. I saw him again a year later and he asked about the surgery. I told him I did not, - I fixed it myself. I beat the bone spur off with a 2x4. He said, oh no, you could rupture your achilles. I told him that if I did, what would happen, you'd just do the same surgery.
It's been 15 years and I still have no problems with my achilles!

Surgeons make money by performing surgery...not by recommending against it!!

My wife tore her meniscus about five weeks ago. The following day she was able to walk and went to the ER. They x-ray'd it and recommended that she see an Orthopedic Surgeon. The one they recommended blew her off. Last week she was in pain and got in to see another guy. He did both an MRI and CAT. He told her that she was bone on bone and if she wasn't in constant pain to be careful doing chores and give it rest as often as possible. Then he smiled and said, "When the pain is so constant that you just can't take it anymore, call me and I'll give you a replacement knee." She asked him why not now. He said right at her, "You were a broker for Anthem. You know that I have to provide codes for what I saw today to get paid for my diagnosis. The films would be reviewed and any insurance company would say that a replacement is not necessary at this time. I can replace the knee now, but it'll cost you about $50,000 out of pocket. Give it three or four years and they'll pay for it." My wife was a broker for Anthem Blue Cross for twenty years. She thanked him and found out that they had crossed paths several times when she was there. He had a lot of respect for her work.

I went through "protocol" with my right knee. When I got to the point I could not walk without the walker, I put a claim in with the VA.
VA paid for my knee.
With my hip, I was getting nowhere until I requested an MRI. MRI showed severe damage. My insurance approved/paid immediately.

All quiet on the east coast front? I would have hoped by now Gonzo would have a new contract. I would at least expect there to be some chatter on the matter, seems nothing is taking place, at least as far as we are aware. I think the asking price considering the team needs to consider Maye's contract in the immediate future may be asking more than the team can offer. If the Pats cannot work a deal to keep both we obviously keep Maye. If this is the situation do the Pats need to consider offers for Gonzo? If they consider trading him what can the team reasonably expect?
