Mitz, there won’t be any updates for a while. His injury was so severe, that it will take months before he can even put weight on it. The good news is apparently the infection is under control.

According to the junkies, was spotted at Target a couple of days before Christmas doing some shopping and was in a wheel chair.

Sounds like next season is out of the question & Smith returning at all is very questionable.

smith the trade i have had an issue with , smith the human being i do not . this doesnt look good but will smith the leader of the team retire and give the team a break ? . he doesnt have too and i wouldnt blame him if he tries to come back and get the cash but the bad scenario for this team goes away if he retires

It is a work related injury. I would get paid if it was me.

Why should he give any money back to the team? Regardless of the results he gave it his all during his time w/ the team to include that hideous injury & the number surgeries & hours of hospital time & rehab & his life will never be the same.

Would you give the money back? I wouldn't (unless there is some magical way that this can be arranged where he still walks away with most/all of the $$ - doubt it).

I was thinking at best, Alex would be available 2nd half of the 2019 season. I don't think he ever plays again...damn.

Not sure what "the leader of this team" (but, I know what you mean) has to do with Alex and his terrible injury dad. But, I can tell you one thing... Alex is not, a sourpuss...just a damn good leader!

I understand what your saying & would love it if that occurred. However that isn't going to happen barring a miracle. I believe that all he has to do for the coming season is show up as scheduled & fail his physical. He can then continue to rehab & collect his money. You would be hard pressed to find any individual who would forego that given the large amt of $$.

They just need to be a little frugal & focus on getting a young QB somehow over the next few years & work towards the future & not simply 2019. That might be hard to swallow as a fan, but most likely it is a necessary evil.
