Hospitals these days are pig pens. They smear dirt around, faecal material gets spread about, everybody gets a share.

Didn't Brady have an infection complication with his knee too? Or was it Gronk with his arm?

Used to be you'd go to the hospital to get cured, now you go there to catch shit... C Difficile anybody??

Oral antibiotics don't do shit for that. Your doctors should have been more educated. The bullshit is you can't even sue because Big Pharma wrote the rules.

Two different doctors prescribed oral meds. They referred me to a specialist who ordered a bunch of tests and she then put me on an IV. I initially injured the finger on 8/31 and the inflammation is finally almost gone and it is almost for months later

glad everything cleared up. IM assuming they sent you to an infectious disease specialist. You probably were prescribed broad spectrum antiobiotics, then more potent ones.........then needed targeted antiobiotics, and IV due to the spreading infection, blood stream risk etc. Im assuming, but know how it works

Do you have a clue??? How about do you know good English...? OK Chet, I know it's hard, that's the language you supposedly speak.

My mother-in-law caught C Difficile when in for a stroke. Not what she went in for.

Of course your (not you're) moronic counter will be "that's what Canadian health care gets you..."

Brady did contract some sort of infection with his knee.

Remember all the weird similarities to Joe Theismann? His career ended that night.
Theismann sounded a little shaken up about it a day or so later when I heard him do an interview.

It being Smiths injury.

That is scary. It's tough today. Even with all the better sanitation and sterilization techniques and anti-biotics, so many different resistant strains are popping up. Used to be penicillin killed anything and everything from an amputation to an itchy cock.

I hope he is able to return but if I had to bet on it my guess is it will follow the tried and true line:

A. Recovery turned the corner, all going great is the word on a near weekly basis
B. Hopefully ahead of schedule, maybe a hint he will be ready for next months practice or camp or something.
C. Those days get close and pass and it gets REALLY quiet.
D. A video of him running on a treadmill brings a fevered pitch with thoughts that it's any minute now.
E. Officially put on IR
F. Repeat A-D for next season.
G. Retirement or release.
H. A couple years of rumors while he's in the booth calling games every time some teams QB gets lost for the season.

There was talk over sports talk tonight that if Smith is done playing that with his guaranteed contract for the next few years that he would count like $15 to $16 mil a year for a few years even if not playing really causing cap issues

didn't he have like $71 million guaranteed on his new contract? I hope Smith recovers, but hell, he might just retire and spend his days on a beach sippin' whiskey.

No offense to Alex, but I don’t think anybody is going to go into a “fevered pitch” when thinking about his return.

He is correct in that hospitals are filled with less than savory germs. It's filled with... sick people.

It isn't very likely that's how Alex got infected, however. That's just the name of the game when you got a compound fracture like this; that's why they try to do surgery ASAP is my recollection following this.
