Alex Collins has father sign letter of intent; mother hires lawyer

“The last conversation [with her] was basically about why I chose Arkansas and why I felt the love at Arkansas. She understood and supported me behind it,” Collins said. “She always supported me it’s just the fact from her standpoint she wants to make sure this is the right decision for me and I’m not just picking a school and not understanding what I’m getting into. I’m leaving the state and I’m going to be four to five hours plane ride away and she just wants to make sure this is what I really want to do.”
Collins used the word “support” and that may not be quite accurate.
His mother has hired Jack Paris of The Cochran Firm South Florida to to represent “the family’s interests while she contemplates” where her son should play.
She obviously chose not to attend the event.
Collins still had plenty of love from his father, his grandmother and his aunt Loretta.

Not sure how her hiring a lawyer means anything. It's HIS decision, she has zero say. She can't stop him from going. However, if I'm Arky, I'm not sure I even want him. She's mostly likely bound to be trouble as long as he's there. A mom SO meddlesome that she would steal your NLI, run, AND hire a legal team, is not balanced mentally/emotionally. The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. I hope everything works out for the kid, but I would want nothing to do with these people if I were coaching. Too muc immaturity in that household.

I'm not sure what she thinks she gonna accomplish either, pretty ridiculous. You usually can't take most of these recruits at face value but I was rather impressed with Collins when he announced his commitment the other night on the New College Football Show. He seemed like a well spoken and laid back kid. He was joking around with the panel and appeared to have a good head on his shoulders.

I hope everything works out for him, it's a shame he's having to deal with this shit instead of being able to fully enjoy what should be a special and exciting time for him and his family.

Her people need to tell her to stop being selfish, grow up, and then shut the hell up. Either support her kid or get the hell out of the way.

I'm fucking embarrassed for this guy. What is his mom thinking? Why would she want her son to play somewhere that his heart isn't at? Is she that fucking selfish?

This would ruin my relationship with my mother, she would never do this though cause I'd commit to Alabama...
