I'm not even an Iowa fan other than they run a clean program and they do pretty decent for where they're located. Granted Iowa doesn't have the fame Nebraska does but they're a solid program imo.

Washington beat Oregon 70 - 21 in 2016. They beat Oregon the following year by a score of 38 - 3. The Ducks won last season @ home in OT. Don't push it.

Nebraska is in the wrong conference. They'll never win the championship. They had good rivalries with Oklahoma and Texas. No reason for a top recruit to go to Nebraska, what with Ohio State, both Michigans and Penn State. Much better chance for them in the Big 12.

I agree that I wish Nebraska was still in the Big 8... *eerrmm** 12, Texas can go kick rocks. But to say we won't win the conference ever is somewhat silly given an average/medicore Nebraska team made the B1G CCG... but it definitely is a crowded conference.

Texas isn't a rival. Texas is just hated because they ruin everything. Technically speaking, there has never been a good reason for recruits to come here... except for the coaching. Hopefully Frost restores. that.

Too many recruiting restrictions in the Big 12 that punish the northern schools.

For instance when the conference was formed, tejas immediately proposed limitations for the time that coaches could be 'out of the office" on the recruiting trail. Obviously that would not hurt the donghorns at all as the their coaches really don't need to leave the office at all to recruit. Schools like Oklahoma and Okie Jr are just 3 hours drive from Dallas. The other Big 12 south schools resided in tejas. At the time the Big 12 north division was better than the south. Nebraska, Colorado Kansas St, Missouri, were the dominant teams. A couple years after those recruiting restrictions went into place the Big 12 north schools collapsed.

Like everything tejas, they underachieve like no other. They can only do well when everybody else's standards are limited.

The Big 10 has more lax recruiting standards due to their teams being north. Nebraska is not only in a better place economically, they are in a better place for recruiting nationally.
