There was one guy on that ballot who is an unquestionable Hall of Famer, and more than half of the esteemed panel was too stupid to vote for him.
Yes, and Alan Trammell was elected...

Good for them. I feel like they are a little below the standard but that's just me.By whatever they're calling the Veteran's Committee these days.
Both before my time, but congrats to them.
honestly, I think WAR is the worst thing to happen to the HOF... I am convinced that voters/veteran committee just look at who are the highest WAR and not in and just say they belong in...
neither player deserves in IMO... Morris is a JOKE...
Morris is in because he was money when all the marbles were at stake. He wouldn't get you to game 7, but he'd damn sure win it for you. Lolich was basically the same guy. Except he was a lefty. And he was fat.
Trammel and Whitaker both belong. Flawless in the middle, could set the table, and had good power for middle infielders in the days before everybody roided up.
There was plenty at stake in the 1992 WS when he gave up 10 runs in 10.2 innings. What about 1987 when he gave up 6 runs in 8 innings?Morris is in because he was money when all the marbles were at stake. He wouldn't get you to game 7, but he'd damn sure win it for you. The HOF has become so predictable. Every year it's, "My guy didn't get it, so the Hall is shit!" or "The guy(s) they voted in suck! (Read: My favorite guy is better).
Then there is my favorite..."WAR sucks!"..."No it doesn't!". hahahaha
Who cares? It's a block party - and you ain't even invited.
It's a baseball discussion board. You should try discussing baseball.
1 game that happened. Outside of that game he had a 4.26 postseason ERA and didn't pitch any other do or die game.Morris is in because he was money when all the marbles were at stake. So....it appears that a good number of people here have their doubts about Jack Morris becoming a member of the HOF.
OK...so what is the next step? Boycott the Hall? Close it down? Plan an attack to invade the HOF this fall and physically remove Morris' plaque? PERHAPS...stage a mass uprising of disgruntled fans at this summer's Induction Ceremony...with torches and pitchforks!!!!!
I think the answer is going to be that on a baseball forum, we are going to talk about baseball.So....it appears that a good number of people here have their doubts about Jack Morris becoming a member of the HOF.

Hahaha...a lot of hair triggers.
You have an incorrect perception of Ozzie Smith...I gotta disagree on Trammell ... WAR is one stat and it works well for Trammell, but sometimes it's what a player meant to the game. Being one half of a 19 year double play combination (on the same team) is amazing especially with the stats Trammell and Whitaker put together.
Joe Tinler, Johnny Evers and Frank Chance are in the Hall of Fame because of a poem.
Ozzie Smith because he could do a back flip.
Jack Morris was an asshole with mediocre stats .... we agree on that.
