I was bummed when Chet left Chicago!
He had a better career than I expected, 55.6 career WAR (Baseball Reference version) and led the league once in doubles and four times in HBP.

That really surprised me!!! Lemon played a great centerfield and was a good hitter and mostly a class person that was a fan favorite. Not a Hall of Famer, but a real good player!!!

And Brewers, but they rotate every year.

"I pull for two division rivals"

That makes about as much sense as being a Yankees and Red Sox fan.
I'm not a Brewers fan... I don't know why you would think that I am.

We're 3-4 against the Reds this year.

They've actually been a pretty solid team since they changed managers.

They might be my darkhorse team to surprise next season.
Eugenio Suarez can mash. If they can add some pitching, the offense with Votto and him alone should help them push for a WC.

I don't know, might be the fact that you post a lot about the Brewers. Only time I ever saw you in the Braves forum was when we were playing the Brewers.

Why would an Astros and Rangers fan be watching games between the Braves and Brewers?

They have a couple starters that have potential IMO. That Mahle guy needs some polishing, but the stuff is there. And I'd trade bullpens with them right now with zero hesitation.

Morris had a 105 career ERA+, which puts him as slightly above average among his peers. No 300 wins, No Cy Youngs. Was he ever, even for one season, considered the best pitcher in the league?

This. Whenever I hear the name Jack Morris there's only one game that comes to mind. An all-time great game, but we aren't talking about the Hall of 1 Memorable Game.

However I'm not a Twins fan and was only 10 at the time so I digress...

Murphy: 46.5 career WAR, 42.4 from 1980-87, four 6+ WAR seasons
Nomar: 44.2 career WAR (in almost 3000 fewer plate appearances than Dale), 41 WAR from 1997-2003 (including the 2001 season where Nomar played only 21 games), six 6+ WAR seasons

Nomar arguably has a better peak but you don't see me arguing for him in the HOF. I think Murphy and Mattingly fall in the same category. They all had strong peaks, but did little outside of those seasons and those seasons make up for almost all of their career value. I just don't think the peaks are strong enough to make up for that.

The only thing worse than a stat queen is..............................

Well, nothing is worse than a stat queen, especially the new breed of useless stat queens that couldn't catch a cold in Alaska, yet go around spouting WAR and WAR+ and Wank+ and all sorts of other bullshit that no one who has played the game or knows the game gives one fuck about.

Wifey must keep his nuts in her purse because he spends more time humming a tune on Aaron Rodgers' overrated donk than he does talking up the Cowboys. Now he is talking about the Brewers?

Brewers, Rangers and Astros. He can't really decide.

A Cowboy fan from Texas that can't slobber on the Packers hard enough makes me nervous.
