No doubt. Champ's pick six against NE got us within a game of going to the SB in 2005, but we had no answer for the Steelers blitzes the following week.

Wilson simply became a Bronco a year too late.

There are a lot of great players across the league who never made it to the Super Bowl. Some go their entire careers without even playing in a playoff game. That's why I somethings like to dwell on how lucky we are as Broncos fans. It's rare to win a Super Bowl. It doesn't happen every year. A good part of the league has never won one and some teams have never even been to one. That some great Broncos have never won one, and the Broncos have been one of the better franchises. It sort of helps put fandom season to season into context.

My brother's old minor league roommate Don Mattingly is the only Super Star Yankee in the last 100 years to have not played in a World Series.

Well, he was on the FS1 pregame show with the gorgeous Charissa Thompson and some schmucks this year, so maybe he was at the game. But I didn't watch any of FS1's Super Bowl coverage, so I'm not sure.

But if I were a Bronco, I'd strongly consider giving my ring to him. If there was another former Bronco more deserving of a ring, I don't know who.

I didn't realize until Super Bowl week that DeMarcus Ware hadn't even played in a Championship game let alone the Super Bowl. I forgot just how bad the Cowboys have been for so long. Glad to see such a great player and person get a Super Bowl ring.

There have been a lot of them.

Always thought like Ed Reed, like Charles Woodson (who won one).. Champ was just one of those guys who REALLY deserved to win one, for his class and play on the field.

Al Wilson of course in the same boat.

I almost tried to hate Tony Gonzo beings he was a Chief, but I just couldn't do it. That guy was as classy as it gets in the NFL.

Basically they can give out a ring to whomever they want, but they're limited in the number they get for free (I think it's 150 but I could be wrong about that). After they hit that limit, if they want to give out more rings, the organization has to pay for it themselves.

Really? Going to and winning a SB is so rare I would never give anyone else my ring. But, I am kinda selfish too..

I really doubt Champ would take it. My guess is that most players want to earn their ring. They don't want one given to them.

Eh, they're probably gonna win SB 51, so why not give Champ this years ring.
