Don’t think it’s them that wished the season would stop after 60 games

Paging Nick Pivetta
I like how you go from standing out on the ledge to planning the Championship parade in 2 days. Nobody thought the Red Sox would be real contenders this year. They are building for 2022 and beyond. They are playing with house money.

It’s really year 2. I guess you are forgetting that they won the World Championship in 2018. 2019 was a hangover season, but hardly a rebuild. Lol.

And the Yankees DID have a long rebuild from 2013-2016 when they didn’t win a division or a single playoff series and actually missed the playoffs 3 times in 4 years(despite having the 1st or 2nd highest payroll in each of those 4 years). I don’t blame you for forgetting all that. I would, too.

No pitching is pretty awesome, Cashman out geniused them all again

but October being a different beast and the Nats being stupid not to trade Max, I’d do it

They're gonna have to add to the rotation. As good as Kluber and Taillon have been recently, I don't think either has a shot to even give you 180 innings-which is why I never really understood the moves-specifically the 1 year deal for Kluber. At least Taillon is under control for this year and next.

I’m not as convinced as you with Seve on the mend and Garcia in the tank, but I think they can always add a useful arm, if not a great one

my problem is a dreadful outfield, and that’s with a healthy Judge. Hicks is a low ceiling player, Gardner is not a major league player anymore, and Frazier just looks like he is a AAA type player

I like Arizona as a trade partner, I’m sure Marte is asking for too much, but a guy like David Peralta would be a nice little boost that shouldn’t cost much

What happened to Roughned Odor?

is it a must this team needs to start Tyler Wade everyday?

Wait...Sox lead dwindles from 4 games to 1 game in a week, and suddenly it's a rebuilding year?

And not for nothing, since we're talking about payrolls, guess who was #1 by a lot in that "hangover season"

Severino will be treated with kid gloves is my expectation-I don't see him as necessarily the "same as a deadline acquisition" that I'm reading everywhere lately. He's talented, but I think he's a bit soft mentally to be honest. I'll be thrilled if he proves me wrong.

The OF is not great, I agree, but I'm not sure what the solution is there. Too soon to give up on Frazier, IMO, but he's got to start being more consistent at the plate, and on the bases. I know I sound like a broken record, but a lot of that is on the coaching-which is largely terrible.

The Red Sox were one of the worst teams in MLB last year. You didn’t think this was a rebuilding year going in?

Sure, I did. But then April happened and on this board and elsewhere it wasn't a rebuilding year anymore. Then the last week happened, and suddenly it's a rebuilding year again.

Weird.

I hated the signing at the time, but his AB's crack me up. It's like he's doing a Soto impression. And his bat flips are the stuff of legend.

His energy is really nice to have on this stale boring team

I’ll be honest, Sox and Jays can hit in a league noone does

but neither has the pitching to survive IMO

Yeah? You read posts from Red Sox fans who were talking about them being a real contender this year?

GayBar Torres tests positive for Coronavirus. I think his bat has had it for 2 years.
