Might as well start a thread for this.

When you go out of bounds, is the ball down where you step out or where the ball is at the time of stepping out?

I didn't know that you were allowed to defend T.Y. Hilton.

There was a snap over the punters head he tried to throw it but fumbled it out of bounds for a safety. The announcer is saying that he had no benefit to do such a thing. He should have just fell on the ball. I don't understand that. If he fell on the ball, wouldn't Indianapolis have the ball on the 2 yard line and then score touchdown for seven points. Even if they don't score the touchdown, it's likely a field goal for three points. Three is more than two. Give up a safety, and then pin Indianapolis far away.

The safety was the better play, especially with the little time left in the half.

Two Patriot defenders ran into each other on a sure interception play. In the Denver-San Diego game this last regular-season, I saw Weddle back away from the other defender knowing that going for the interception would lead to neither of them getting it. Very hard to communicate, but if you can see it ahead of time, that's a big deal.

Man, they outta give Gostkowski the punting job. 63 yards and drops it inside the 5; not to bad for a non punter.

It turned out saving them five points. Because Luck just threw another interception. If they had downed it basically on the 2 yard line that would be a sure touchdown or field goal. It seemed like there was a lack of analysis there. You never want a safety, but you never want to turn the ball over on downs at the 2 yard, either. That, in my opinion, is worse. Take the safety, kick off, and trust your defense especially if there is little time left in the half.

Ya, I was thinking Dierdorf must have been at the bottle again with that statement.

I think the best play would've been to throw it at an elligables receivers feet... Loss of down with ball back at where they tried to punt from. Since he didn't have time for that the safety was the best option...

Oops, of course, I meant if that wasn't an option (he tried to pass it). The announcer was calling for him to fall on it and saying attempting a pass was dumb and the result of a safety was "the last thing you want to do - just fall on it (he said)."

Andrew Luck is extraordinary; especially his ability to throw accurately while being hit.

Niners should have held on to LaGarrette Blount.

Brady holding on PATs, Gostkowski punting and kicking? The Pats can do it all. That is an amazing organization.

That number 91 for the Pats is a real athlete. He looked like a huge wide receiver catching that pick and returning it. That should be ball game.

I wish we had a bruising O Line like the Pats. Now this is a running football team.

This Colts' team has no business even being in the playoffs much less in the 2nd round.

Andrew Luck has one of the weakest supporting casts in the NFL.
