I got an email today from a local course asking for those in the community to "adopt-a-hole" to go out once a week and repair ball marks on the greens, fill divots, etc early in the morning or late afternoon.

You get nothing in return as far as I can tell.

they could at least give you a free round of golf a month, right?

We got a lot of a-holes here. Is this like sponsoring one of those poor starving children in Africa?

bring your clubs. tell them you want a cart to go do it.

get your cart. drive to you car and get your clubs. drive to hole 1

eventually you will get to your hole.

Something similar I guess...our home course has a "give back to the course day"...normally it's a small group of members (15-20) people that will pick a hole and give it a once over.

Our recently installed greens...champions bermuda are so hard...we rarely need to repair pitch marks now.

I'm sure these people get something, but I'm not sure what it is.
