Yup. Miggy was given every chance to distinguish himself and failed miserably. $6M wasted, but at least it was only a 1 year deal. I'm glad we're keeping Burriss.

I agree with ExtraBaggs, Miggy's a good guy and it'll be sad but he's gotta be put down.

If Sabean (and the owners) really does the right thing there, I'll be pretty impressed. It probably also would mean that Rowand is expendable if need be.

Think of it this way: without Posey the team has no room for error. If we are going to contend we have to somehow keep the ship afloat with duct tape and chewing gum.

With one of if not our best player still here, you can afford kinda to have the 25th man be less than your best guy, for $ reasons. Without Posey you simply don't have that luxury.

Which can be looked at as a bad thing, or maybe a silver lining (Posey injury forces the right moves...)

By that logic, I think RoRo has to be the one to go, then. We are more thin on the infield than we are in the OF, and RoRo is CLEARLY the last guy on the OF bench...

Keep Tejada over Rowand? Nah...but it does mean Rowand is next in the firing line. Maybe if they have to bring Zito up.

Because you can play Burriss everywhere, you can maybe go with 13 pitchers.

Then again, with all the close games we play, can we afford to have only 4 hitters on the bench?

Personally I hope Zito can be persuaded to 'stay hurt' in the minors until he's needed as a 6th starter if someone goes down or gets bad (Vogelsong). He was a trooper being left off the playoff roster, so maybe he'll be ok with it and console himself fucking a supermodel on a big pile of $100 bills.

I'd say Sandoval for Tejada then Fontenot for Rowand (if Burriss plays everywhere).

EDIT: Scratch that, Ford for Rowand, Fonty for Gillaspie (they are the same player).
