The irony of this year's QBs in the draft is you have three top QBs - none of which is considered a high #1 draft pick. The top college QBs this year do have something going for them on draft day. With the 5 year option for a 1st round pick - these top 3 QBs this year will likely be overdrafted because a late 1st round pick gets the 5 year option (salary controlled) and an early 2nd rounder has to prove himself in 4 - and if he does you have to resign him for high wages.

I suggest this puts the Broncos in a very fine position to trade down at 20 - and pick up an extra high 2nd and maybe a 3rd rounder for the Broncos to trade out of the 1st round. If I was JE - I'd be looking for this deal and do it - if it presents itself.

Tell you the truth id stay put
Elway was has a terrible record in the 2nd round and never seems to get decent value for this trades plus Denver can't afford another year where the top 2 picks do squat.
Unless they want mixon high in the 2nd then yeah do it

Hopefully with some new coaches this year in the war room, they'll hit big in this draft and if that's the case and if your # 1 coveted guy is gone, more pks in top rds could prove to be very valuable . If Denver were to get a high 2nd and a 3-4 rd pk plus say a 2nd in 2018, I'd be good with that for sure.

Given the raves about Vance's talent evaluations, I'm hoping for a reverse of recent mid to high round pick quality.

Now, we can only hope he has the huevos to "bang the table" for the guy he wants.

Maybe the Browns will package Joe Thomas over for the 20th pick -and some change.

IMO, way too high a price to pay for a guy with just a few years left, and not at his peak anymore.

I'd take Thomas - and a high 2nd and a middle rounder instead of a 3rd- for pick 20. I think the drop off in play is baloney - he was on the Browns for cripes sake - you need to get 2 years out of him. I think top of this draft is deep - there just aren't many guys who are sure things - so I see a bunch. This is especially true of the Oline guys (unless you can get Lamb).

I just don't see the Browns trading their best lineman after they spent Free Agency beefing up their line. Watch for the Browns to have a great O-line this year.

Only way I see Denver moving up is if their totally convinced Robinson or Lamp is the guy and they don't think they'll be there at 20. Man, I'd sure hate to make pk at 20 for Denver this year. To many good players are going be available @20 that will be hard to pass on even if one of those tackles is there. Crazy.

Very unlikely. The Browns just invested heavy money into the OL signing Zietler to a mega-deal, Bitonio to a huge extension, and of course Tretter at the Center position. Don't usually invest like that then trade away maybe the best player of the group at the most important position on the OL.

Teams also - don't usually keep a high priced veteran on the Oline - when they don't have a QB to protect. They have been looking to trade him now for two years - so there's that - as well.
