16 years ago today, Pawtucket outfielder Michael Coleman lifted his average from .265 to .299 after going 7-for-7 and hitting for the cycle in a 25-2 rout of Norfolk.

He collected two singles, a double, a triple and three home runs while totaling seven RBIs. His seven hits, six runs scored and 19 total bases all set ‪#‎PawSox‬ franchise records.

He set a record as a big fish in a little pond.

Typical for Boston, I guess.

Hell, just because he has been out of baseball since 2006 he would be a better hitter and fielder than anything the Red Sox currently have

I actually saw his MLB debut(in Montreal, of all places). It was Labor Day weekend(I want to say it was 1997) and I drove up there with a few buddies. I'm pretty sure Derek Lowe made his debut in that game, as well, as rosters had just expanded. I know the Red Sox lost on a walkoff HR from a young Vladimir Guerrero, but we just had the best time in Montreal. What an awesome city.
