I'd love to see Wade back but I can't help but remember that statistic CBS put up(I think it was them) that showed everywhere Wade went his Defense would be great the first year and then get progressively worse each year after that. And that was true for Denver as well, last year our Defense was #1 and this year thanks to a shitty run defense we were #4. Still top 5 but as is tradition with Wade we got worse in year 2.
But at the end of the day I still want him back to finally prove that statistic wrong and because it would suck to start over on Defense.
Wade might end up coaching at every organization by the time he retires at age 90.
I still love how he was a former HC who failed here and ended up coming back years later to win a SB as a coordinator... Same with Kubes a a former player... Just seemed fitting for these two to get a ring in another role for the Broncos.
I still have hopes he will be back, but my personal feelings is that we hire Vance Joseph and go another route on D with more focus on our O cord.
Now, lets make a story out of Mike McCoy coming back and winning one.
Well that would be a tragedy, and a not so subtle kick in the nuts to our core players who rallied around him. We lost Malik and Trev, two major players for us and he still kept us a top D. Coincidently losing these two studs our run D suffered. That's not Wade's fault. You can only make so many silk purses out of pigs ears. Wade is a defensive genius and the players love him
I'm just at the point of struggling to believe any report out there. Adam Schefter this morning said there truly is no front runner. I've seen others that if Shanahan gets hired he is planning on signing Wade as his DC. It is just a wide range of reports these days. Just have to wait and see how it all plays out.
