Jerry Rice wow just wow. Even though I now he's the best player to ever lace them up; I forgot just how amazing he was. I didn't know he and Dion had Beef though. Jerry was kind of a Jerk and very apathetic kind of like Jordan. If i'm watching this correctly he tore his ACL and came back the same year....is that correct? Freaking monster.:omg:

Rice was an amazing player. He did come back from the ACL. Teams still make players IMO. He was surrounded by great players and brilliant coach (Bill Walsh) on those Niner teams. It should also be noted that John Taylor caught the winning TD against the Bengals in that close superbowl win. Rice did not win another Superbowl after he left the Niners. I dont think he was the greatest player to ever lace them up. Greatest receiver, most likely.

I may be biased when I say that Irvin was more valuable to the Cowboys than Rice was to the Niners.

I loved Michael Irvin, consider him a top 10 all time guy, but no, just no. Taylor caught that game winning TD because they were over under against Rice

Im biased as hell but I dont think Arlington is too far off on this . For that 4 yr span of 3 Superbowl wins, I think I would have taken Irvin too. Our offense back then was very Emmitt friendly and should have been with that OLine. Irvin though , to me anyway was the heart and soul of that team- ON THE FIELD. We never threw it enough though for him to catch 100 passes or lead the league. Aikman was so accurate- you rarely saw Irvin have to make the highlight catch. I just know that Aikman, Irvin, and Novacek were money when they had to be. Nate will probably take a beating for his statement, but count me in there with him for those 4 yrs anyway

With all do respect to Romotoowens and Arlington opinions really can't be wrong cause that's how you guys see it, but I have never disagree more in my life with a football opinion. I love me some Micheal Irving but please. This is borderline insane and you guys should be drug tested immediately.

Odds are had Rice been a Cowboy they'd have different views on the subject today. In my mind it's Rice then everybody else. CJ is close though.

Note I said for a 4 yr span. Jerry Rice is one of the top 5 players to ever play and that goes for all positions. Also note that I said I was very biased. If you must- I will still take that drug test- and Im very much like Ricky Bobby- I piss excellence.

So what happens in those 4 yrs if Rice is on our team. Do we all of a sudden stop feeding Emmitt 25 times a game? No . People knock Nate for everything he says. He isnt that far off here .

It's not like Irvin is even 2nd in the discussion. Rice is one of the greatest players of any position in history. Irvin was a very good WR and never even enters the greatest player at any position conversation. I'll say one thing for Jerry...he better keep an eye on Calvin because that man is going to give Jerry a run for his money when all is said and done and the changes in the game aren't the reason. I've never seen a guy so physically dominant at the position and the only comparison I can think of from a physical point of view at any position is Jim Brown.

You around during Brown's day?

gotta a great action picture with Lilly tackling Brown. Took me a few years but now have both players autographs. Prize possession to say the least.......hope the wife makes it out should the house catch fire
