Last year at this point in the season the Nebraska defense produced only 5 sacks..................(through 4 games).
This year the Nebraska defense has produced 7 sacks through 4 games.
Last year the Nebraska defensive line had produced 88 total lost yards through 4 games.
This year the Nebraska defensive line has produced 146 total lost yards through 4 games.
Carl Pelini explained it as so..............."Unfortunately, when you play teams early in the season that are going to play it close to the vest and try to keep the score low, and try to keep it within reason, they're not going to give you tons of opportunities to do those things (TFLs and sacks)," Pelini said. "They're going to use max (pass) protection, keep backs in, keep tight ends in, throw on rhythm, throw their 5-yard routes and punt."
I'm no expert, but let me tell you something............I, JJM, am not worried about Nebraska's defense one bit. I think starting next Thursday, in Manhattan, we will start to see the dominance take over again from the Blackshirts run defense. In fact, I think we will being to see the defense transform into a defense that is indeed 5 times better than it was last season.
That is all for now.

JJM
