This one is just a matter of timing at this point. I've had the most luck at a hardware store that you'd never think to purchase ammo from and small mom and pop places. I went to Cabela's and the only ammunition they had were for out of season hunting like shotgun shells for waterfowl. I have noticed that if you join up to be a member at an online store like Brownell's or Team Buds you're more likely to get some than just poking around from time to time.

Overall, demand is so high that finding it "cheaply" isn't likely in the cards...just try to get any FMJs you can get your hands on.

I've never shot this brand before but I have done business and been happy with Bulk Ammo: 1000 Rounds of Bulk 9mm Ammo by Blazer - 147gr FMJ

I’ve never used it (as Calif has some fucked up rules about ordering ammo) but there is an app that supposedly will scour the web and give prices/availability of various rounds

look up AmmoSeek and see if it can help you out

Yeah, I think the last 1,000 round one I bought was around $300. Like I said before though, demand is so high you almost have to take what you can get.

There have been a lot of newbies buying firearms this year. I believe March, April, and May were all the highest ever for the ATF doing back ground checks. Everybody has a 9MM and 5.56 so people buy a lot of that type of ammo. There are also people out there buying it like they were in 2012 with rimfire ammo and hording the shit. I started to load my own in the early 2000's the best thing I ever did. I'm always buying bullets, primers, brass, and powder when I find good deals. That's why I always have ammo to shoot. Getting started reloading you are looking at $500.00 to $1000.00 depending on the equipment you buy.
