Palmeiro gets no love bc he wont be in the HOF, bc he took supplements and didnt he sleep with a teammates' wife back in the day. He gets no love, but probably plenty of {|}

Doesn't matter if he's in the hall or not he has hall numbers and then some. The fact he's kind of a dick doesn't take away what he did while he was playing.

just playing devils advocate, but what hurts him him is the era he played in... In OPS+, BA AND SLG% he was top 10 only 3 times in his career and he was never top 5...

In Homeruns he was top 10 5 times, but never top 3... so point is that he may have been great, but it seems like there was always better players every season...

And he gets no extra love at defense since he played 1B and DH for most of his career...

At some point it has to be about what a player does not what other players did. His career numbers are right there with the best all time. Who cares he played 1B or DH we all have to draft one right? He wasn't a bad fielder...

IDK, i like him, but i still think he is probably the worst 1B that will be drafted in this mock...


But he is also why i like to wait on first baseman... such a deep position, unless you get Gehrig or Foxx.

Well two teams I think still haven't drafted a 1st baseman and they will be hard pressed to draft a better one than Raffy.

Also, I wouldn't say I would choose without question McGwire or Eddie Murray over Palmeiro so IMO Palmeiro will probably end up somewhere in the middle of the 1st basemen drafted.

Yes, but lots of that is just playing for a long time and being good... I have said this elsewhere, but there is a difference between a player who had the better career and which player is better... And IMO these mocks are about who is the better player and not the better career... For these mocks, I don't have Murray or Palmeiro even close to the top 10 1B(probably not even top 20)... even though if we were talking HOF, I would take both Murray and Palmeiro over many that I like more in these mocks...

Raffy is viewed like Sosa. Everyone knows Bonds and Rocket were great with or without the juice. Most think Raffy and Sosa were good, not great without it, fair or not
