They're squaring up Kershaw...nothing to show for it though.

Looking like a five and dive for Cobb...too many pitches.

Kershaw and Cobb are working with 2 complete different strike zones. It really is unfortunate.

That was a decent pitch, though. Curveball down. Maybe a bit too middle, but it wasn’t a strike. Hard to “blame” Cobb there.

I want to see VR get time at 2B. He can be a 3B fill in, but Schmitt has his eyes on 3B and his D there is elite.

I just noticed this. Not sure anyone here has seen this or if it has been discussed at all…

This year’s bully really sucks ass. We may want to do something about that for next year.

Well…

I guess avoiding the sweep was about as good as we could have realistically expected from this series.

You'd think Shittell and Marte can't be on the team in 23

Well, Kap does not seem very adroit at managing the pen. Obviously, he has little to work with. But putting Littell out there for a second inning?!? :noidea:
I have a hard time pointing fingers at a specific instance because you never know who’s available or who is unavailable or whatever. But that was odd.

As for Littell and/or Marte being on the team next year, I don’t know why Marte was on the team THIS year. I have no confidence in predicting what these guys will do moving forward.

Marte didn't look that good last year in AAA so the Giants add him to the 40 man roster before he could become a minor league free agent. I will say he pitched pretty well in his few outings in AAA this year but he definitely does not look good in the big leagues.

I would assume only Brebbia and Doval are safe bets to return next year but who knows.

I wondered how many pitches Littell threw in the 7th inning, thinking it was not many - it was 17. Hardly a stress free inning. One would think that Kapler would has someone warming up even as Littell started the 8th inning and pulled Littell as soon as he gave up that double.

The only thing I can think of in Kapler's defense - its a lost season, yesterday was a bullpen game and tomorrow is a double header. Yet, even then, you are playing the Dodgers. You do everything you can (except injuring your own players) to throw a wrench into their season.
