Avelino lives! Slater does get to start from time to time and welcome back our new leadoff hitter - Hunter Pence.
I'll take the loss today. My record is shot anyway.
Losing 22 of 26 games in one month, and ending a season, is no small feat. However, I really do hope they end it with a 3 game winning streak. Just hope other teams they are competing with do the same.best we can do is a 10 game losing streak to close out the season.....
damn team can't even beat the recent 11 game skid

You might as well ask for the moon.least they can do is win friday since i'm attending
While some of us may root for a losing streak to improve draft position, watching them lose is not fun. I'd much rather watch them get ready for a playoff appearance. Post season is not very fun without the Giants in it.Losing soundly to the 94 loss Padres does not make me happy, no matter how it improves our draft position. Giving up a leadoff single to the opposing pitcher is egregious. And the two errors don't help. And the hitters, per usual, can't hit spit.
By the way, does anyone else feel like the Giants are playing with fire by only carrying two catchers and one of them is starting at 1st base every day?
Well, that inning could have been worse - the Giants could have loaded the bases with no outs or somehow go 0 for 4 with RISP that inning.
I would guess Slater is the emergency catcher.in the past they've had panda available as a band aid - don't know if there are any current roster players with any catching experience
How so. They have been VERY consistent with RISP this year.this whole RISP thing has been kinda lost on this club
