With 4.1 more scoreless innings, Snelk's ERA will be below 3.00

Unbelievable knowing how he started the season. On June 2 his ERA was 9.51

Since returning, his ERA has been 1.33 with 105 K's in 74 innings.

And he has lengthened out his starts. Tossing the awful one inning start, Snelk has averaged 5 2/3 innings per start, including a complete game, including 10 of 14 games of 6 innings or more. (7 innings once and 9 innings once)

Just a reminder…

Walker was a 31st rounder.
All sports drafts have elements of randomness but like baseball playoffs, baseball drafts seem almost completely random

While I would like to see him signed I think Boras will ask for a small fortune. I can see Boras starting at something like 120M/3yr ...

The last half of this year has really raised his market value ... he's been phenomenal

Well, to be fair, there will be several teams in on him, including the Yanks and Doyers. It isn't just a matter of "sign him or it's on FZ for failing." Snelk and Boras have to agree.

Then pay it. The thing everyone here doesn’t seem to think about, there are many players who simply will not take our money even if we match the top bid. Hitters mostly. Pitchers will sign with us. We can take a chance on a guy like Snell. It’s not going to be 3/120 and if it is I might prefer that to a 6/180 anyway. Giants are either a serious team that will make serious moves or they aren’t. Fuck them if they aren’t.

So they go 3-31 (.097)
1 BB and 8 K
and somehow win this game and get the sweep.

Outside shot at finishing .500.

Astonishing.

Make them agree. I’m tired of this kind of thinking. He’s here now, he says he’ll take our money. So be a top bidder and sign him, or keep being some middling team that doesn’t make meaningful moves.

In 2010 all the aces were homegrown. This time we have to add them.

Hitters won’t sign with us, no matter what, because of the park.

Pitchers will only sign with us if we are the top bidder.

Got it. You hate the park. You have made yourself clear.
