Lots of baseball dealies to discuss today, so get crackin.
Royals in danger of being passed by Toronto for best record...or ARE they? Toronto lost Tulowitzki for 3 weeks due to a cracked ovary.
Yanks salvaged a final game of a possible sweep, but found out they will be without Teixiera for the rest of the season.
St. Louis avoided a sweep from the Reds, but lost catcher Cody Stanley for 80 games due to a roids suspension. Pittsburgh is just 2.5 out.
Atlanta is horrible. They lost their 12th straight home game, the longest such streak since the 1930's when they were still in some other city. They were also swept in a four game home series by New York for the first time in about 30 years.
The Mets' magic number is now 11, tied for the smallest in the league with the fading Royals. They begin a series with Miami, a team which has given them lots of trouble in recent seasons.
Has [insert Padres interim manager's name here] been fired yet?
