Post a song from the 80s...maybe what it meant to you.

Corny song, but it always reminds me of sneaking into clubs in South Florida when we were 16. I just remember that. Penrods on the beach.....was a fun time in the 80s.

Uncle had given me his old 1975 280z but it was a piece of crap. Grateful though. Loved it.

1983 San Diego CA 19 years old. A radio station switched formats to one be one of the first alternative rock stations in the US. 91X as born to become a staple of San Diego culture and shape music TV. Only problem was the transmitting tower was in Tijuana so the DJs had to cross the border to work. Originally broadcasted only at night. Wolfman Jack worked there for you American Graffiti fans. After work on a Friday night , my buddies and I would climb into this 1967 Jeep Commando and head to Tijuana or a little further inland to a beach town called Rosarito Beach. Drinking age in Mexico was 18. Party all night and drive back to be a work at 10 am. Yes Tijuana you could see and do almost anything.

He's a classic 91X song from Wall of VooDoo

Around 1981, A young writer named Cameron Crowe decided to use a San Diego high school to research the high school , surfer and drug culture . Crowe went undercover at Clairemont High School and wrote about his experiences. Fast Times at Ridgemont High was born. I grew up in Clairemont but move away in 1975. Would have been my HS in 1981 when Crowe went undercover so that movie was about my time in HS. So many good songs.

"Learn it. Know it. Live it."

Opening song was a classic by the GoGos

Journey - Girl Can't Help It

1986

Wow, this song. Totally forgot, and I promised I never would. Ironically a girl named Sherry, from Michigan. I had just turned 17, think she was 16.

It was just ONE WEEKEND and it wasn't weird. It was

"MAGICAL" <eye roll>

Really was. Took a trip with a friend to his grandparents and I met this girl Sherry. She was into Journey. Remember it was October and we went to their concert at the Joe Louis Arena...

We kissed when they were playing this song.

Promised I would never forget her and......I did, until she just got in touch with me......last week.
All of a sudden I get a message and all it was was this song.

Unreal how music hits you. Really is.
