8-4 vs 11-2

Everyone's on the Angels bandwagon. Yeah they've gotten close, but today magified the beauty of the lead. It's hard to catch someone this late in the year, e ven if it's only a game or 2 lead. If the Rangers just win series, no sweeps necessary, they go 8-4 prior to the last series of the year, they'd force the Angels to go 11-2 to catch us. If we go 8-4, they have to still go 8-5 to just make the last 3 even count.
I'd much rather be us than them.

Sounds like good odds but we need to win more than 8. They've still got 6 games left to play against Oakland. The Rangers need to go into Mortal Kombat mode.

That's a percentage based on a formula using how many runs you've outscored your opponent. The Rangers only have 3 more wins than the Angels, but have outscored their opponents by 98 more runs than the Angels have outscored their opponets.

I like the Rangers chances. If they come out and play like they are capable of then they should have no problem closing the season out and winning the division. Any small losing streak can get magnified though if LA keeps on trucking. I'd like to see the Rangers just win about 7 or 8 in a row right now.

A sweep of Cleveland would send a nice "it doesn't matter what you do if we keep winning" message to LA.

I just hope that rolling into that last series we are up by 4 games. Make it completely pointless of a series. Then we can get rest for key guys.

No brainer that every one of the six remaining RBIA games is must win. Also ... remembering the end of the 2009 season the six in a row @ SEA and OAK worry me more than the final three @ LAA.

Paying too much attention looking toward those last three games is a prescription for a longer winter.

that would require us going 8-4 while LA goes 8-5. i personally think it can be done
