Francouer DFA'd which I love. What I hate Bochy asked him after to consider the Giants again and hopefully he can come back

Gaudin headed to the DL with carpal tunnel. Kickham called up, freaking Zito takes Gaudin's spot in the rotation. Why?

Bochy: “More than anything it’s to give Barry another chance,” Bochy said of Zito, who went to the bullpen when Ryan Vogelsong was activated from the disabled list Aug. 9. “I think he’s earned this. I’ll start with that. He’s a guy who has done a lot for us.

“It’s been an up and down year. But the stuff coming out of the ‘pen has gotten better, and he’s waited his turn. So he gets to go first.”

So the guy who in his 4 relief appearances
5 IP, 3 HR's, 8 H's,
In three of those appearances he gave up a HR including his last appearance. Three of those HR's came in pitcher-friendly parks.

What is exactly has he done to show improvement? How has he earned another chance this season? I get the feeling if it were up to Bochy he would bring Zito back next season.

C'mon GPC, you're better than that. This year is toast for us. It doesn't matter one bit if Zito pitches well or poorly or whatever. Let the guy have a last couple of home starts. He was a hero last year, and he was a mensch in 2010 (ask tzill what that is). He is a very classy guy, and he deserves a valedictory start or two.

If we were in any kind of race of course you have to keep him off the mound. But we aren't.

Yeah, I'm not sure Vogelsong is gonna work for us next year. We still have like 8 more starts for him to show us something but let's get real...

Gaudin kind of a question mark too. Even Timmy...not used to worrying about the pitching.

While I'm glad you're not calling my team the "Blow Sox" anymore I feel bound
to point out that Bostonians don't hyphenate "BoSox"

Not a major thing I admit, but I can get fussy about details now and then.

Yeah, you're kind of a fussbudget for sure

Also, I feel bound to point out that no one on this forum gives a rat's ass about what Bostonians like to hyphenate

Man, Peavy would look good in a Giants uni next year. I know why we didn't go get him and Rios, but I kinda wish we had. Rios especially, the Chi-Sox gave him away for nothing. He makes $12 mil, not bad at all. That's a decent outfield if you bring Pence back too. Not sure they could afford all that, I guess.

So what if they're in the minority? They have no need to share your interests. Any more than other
Red Sox fans need to share, or pretend to share, my opinions.

Disagreement is a normal part of life, online or off. COPE WITH IT!

I appreciate it (not trying to be an ass to my fellow SF fans) but as an aspiring sports writer, good thing to know

I'd bring up a RISP stat but am too depressed to take another poster's job. At least Vogelsong has gone longer than Peavy
