Has Stratton ever done ANYTHING to warrant his first round selection? Even when he was picked, he was called a big reach with a limited ceiling.

He was a highly touted prospect in the draft, expected to go pretty much where the Giants took him. The limited ceiling was said by some, but that's because he was expected to be one of the first players to reach the bigs. His stuff and body of work was thought that he could step in by 2013/2014 and be a number 3 starter.

Fortunately, Cueto is missing only one start (we need to showcase that guy!). If he gets traded, though, here are the AAA options:
Tyler Beede - 16 starts, 5.30 ERA, 1.500 WHIP, 1.4 HR allowed per 9, 1.95 K/W
Chris Stratton - 12 starts, 5.71, 1.515, 1.3, 3.17
Roberto Gomez - 6 starts, 20 relief appearances, 5.92, 1.705, 0.9, 1.8
Andrew Suarez - 4 starts, 4.01, 1.541, 0.7, 2.4
Jose Flores - 28 year old just promoted from AA
Matt Gage - 24 year old just promoted from AA

Not a great showing by Stratton. But another no-show by the Giants' bats. Once again, no walks, only five hits. Tough to win with that crappy offense. Expected more facing a guy with a 6.00+ ERA coming in.

He's a scrub. He has pitched in minor league ball for almost 7 years and has gotten knocked around everywhere about Rookie ball. He's almost 28 years old. The dude obviously won't be good. Its time to call up Nate Reed.

I don't know. This is a lost season. Might as well give the guy a shot. Not like Cainer has a future with the club, anyway.

Hell, the way this team hits, this guy may end up being one of our best hitters as well.

Yeah, you may be right. That's probably why the Giants signed KC Hobson, Nate Reed, Vic Black and Seth Rosin. If they are going to give these guys a shot, might as well call up a scrub like Bumgarner and see what he can do.
