Evidently, something has been up with the Hoop.

Haven't missed much banter, as the game has been a fecal fest.

JV looks done.

Our bats have reverted to their season-long hibernation (again).

A's lead 11-1 in the 8th.

Pathetic.

Of course, at last check, the Dodgers were losing 18-1 to the Astros. Cold comfort, but a spark of joy in that score.

Yeah I'd say I'm done with JV, give him away for free let him try to get wins somewhere else

Even when he pitches reasonably well, the Giants (surprise!) don't score any runs for him.

As much as he may be a mentor for the young guys, Ray can also be a mentor for the young guys, though he is no HOFer like JV.

Can't keep throwing a 'mentor' out there to lose every 5th game

Alcantara's wonderful evening at the plate makes it even more annoying the Giants let Auerbach go. He was hitting better in AAA than Alcantara and played about as many positions. Would have been nice to see him get a shot at the big leagues, not playing in Mexico.
Among the 12 hitters who have gotten at least 100 PAs with the RiverCats this year, Alcantara is dead last in OPS, while Auerbach was 6th.

I am trying to be patient with JV, but if he is only going to go 3 while taking us out of the game, there really isn’t any reason to give him a roster spot. Tough to consider DFA’ing a first ballot HOFer, but I think that has to at least be on the white board as a possibility at this point.

Unfortunately, it does happen to even the best toward the ends of their careers.

So, he’s due!

At least we didn't get absolutely shellacked like the Dodgers did even though our loss was a shit show as well.

Guys that go out still playing well like Pujols or Posey are very rare
