Giants' hitting, meanwhile, is awful. As per usual. One hit. Against an Oakland pitcher with an ERA coming in of almost 5.

It should be pointed out that, in the mayhem of the trading deadline, the Giants have subtracted one pitcher from an overtaxed bullpen and have yet to replace him. I'm sure that will work out just fine going a pitcher short.
