Giants brought their bats today, and the first inning was K-K-K.

Johnny Wholestaff with two scoreless so far.

The ChiSox pitcher with a 5+ ERA has no K'ed the first four Giants hitters.

Why is Belt hitting 4th? He's slumping. Badly. He is not helping the cause (and I guess no one really is right now) hitting 4th.

Well, after all, Chicago IS heavily Democrat.

It isn’t just the errors that make this team so dismal on D. It is the lack of making the moderately difficult plays (the “errors” that aren’t errors). Just subpar at every level.

“Pathetic“ would be rejected as the first word in the book about this team as being too passive. The editors would require a more aggressive term to start the book.

I apologize for my vestigial former favorite team doing this. I honestly was hoping the Giants took 2 of 3.

Really tough to watch this year, agreed. On the radio they made the point: this team is boring. There's not a single player on the roster you get excited to see. Buster Posey was the last big name and now even he's gone (and they clearly miss him). Does Pederson count?

Add in Belt and Crawford sucking instead of being good like last year and there you have it. Pederson ain't enough.

I gotta think the Giants, even if only to sell tickets, will finally go big on a name soon. Passing on Bryant turned out to be a very good idea and he's not really the name I meant. But maybe they will finally make an offer to bring in someone big and not just say they 'tried'.

They brought in Rodon and they have Webb. I think they are both marketable. But they don’t have a single marketable bat. Craw had the potential, but he is just too old and too quiet to the media. Belt is Belt. Yaz has a name, but he is just a good starter, not a franchise-carrier. Pederson doesn’t have the look. He isn’t lovably chunky like Sandoval, he is just sloppy-looking. Hard to market that.
