Don’t know if anyone just heard Affeldt on KNBR but he made a great point — August is the month that teams rely on their bullpens. The SPs are tired and the playoff push hasn’t hit yet. He thinks FZ needs to bring in an arm or two.

I think FZ won’t get into a bidding war for, say, Kimbrel. I think we’re going to need internal improvement — maybe in the form of Sanchy/Webb/Beede in the bullpen if FZ can acquire another SP.

Gausman is back home with his wife Taylor, who is having some pregnancy complications that required hospitalization. Kapler says she is doing well — it’s a day to day situation.

Posey is swinging a bat but still on IL. LaStella has paused his rehab AGAIN; will resume next week.
Aaron Sanchez will start for Triple-A Sacramento tonight and Sammy Long is in Sacramento to throw a bullpen. Reyes Moronta is throwing a bullpen and it's possible he could go on a rehab assignment next week.

No word on Belt or Longo.

DigDug needs to start hitting again, he is 6-39 in his last 13 games.

(edit) Ask and ye shall receive, a walk for DigDug.

Giants are something like 41-10 with 4+ walks, and 15-22 with three walks or less.
