I know they are testing the robo-umps in AAA this year. But do they have the cameras installed at the MLB level yet? The box on the tv screen is helpful, but it is generic, 2D and viewed from an angle. I want to see the entire volume of the strike zone and viewed from CF.


Relatedly (kinda), why don’t all parks have the CF camera ACTUALLY IN CENTER FIELD??? And why don’t they have cameras mounted on the fair poles? Or mini cameras in the bases? This stuff wouldn’t cost THAT much, would it?

Nola has had a couple CY-level seasons. He is not a middle of the rotation starter.

I have no idea other, been bitchin' about this for years. Only justification I have is to avoid watching the pitcher's ass for 9 innings if the elevation is low. No excuse for not covering the fair/foul poles. Hell a simple ring doorbell camera would resolve 90% of disputed calls. And you are right about the bases, esp 1st and 3rd. Just place one of those worm eye camera's used in golf bunkers in the coaches box (it would never be in danger of getting stepped on as no coach is in the box, ever) and you'd cover the majority of disputed calls. The NY replay umpires union must be strong
