In my opinion
WR
1. Thomas
2. Jones
3. Thielen
4. Hopkins
5. Woods

Who's your top 5 in each category ?
Interesting list. These are all subjective of course, but not sure about top 2 or Woods. Thomas has almost as many fumbles lost as TDs and even though he had a bye, he really isn't close to leading in anything right now. I guess he has a fantastic comp % from his QB but that is likely more Brees. And Jones #2 with zero TDs? I get all the yards, but not as many of anything as Thielen. I'm not sure I'd have either of those 2 in my top 5 but like I said it's subjective and fun to read others viewpoints. Thielen easy #1 for me. Also think Hill and Adams are near top and probably Hopkins. A lot of guys in the mix for the last spot. Tough to compare this early when a few have had byes but where one huge game can skew stats

You feel the same way about Texas Tech QB's?

I do. I think we have a Dak Prescott affect here with Patrick Mahomes. He's really good because teams don't have any pro tape on him and he's surprising lots of people. Next year, teams will catch up with him and his play and him and the Chiefs will be knocked down a peg.

Dak had 29 total TD's in 16 games.

Mahomes has 20 in 6.

Teams don't have any tape on Mahomes to study aside from what he's playing right now. He's a surprise to all defenses. That changes next year and I don't think he's as good next year as he is this year.

No offense, but this is more cliche than a nuanced response. Generally the flaw was always there. If you can point to a said flaw, that's cool, a standalone cliche ain't.

It's pretty simple. See Hill. Throw to Hill. Watch Hill run. No one catch Hill.

Teams will figure out his superior arm strength, accuracy, mobility and escapability when they watch film on him :L

So how do you explain Dak Prescott and his drop from his first year to now?

Middling armstrength and a steep decline in the play around him as far as his stats are concerned. He's only in his 3rd year and has had garbage two of those years if you ask me, personally.

I am a pro-Dak guy.

Edit: Also, feel pretty strongly about Garrett being a bottom 5 coach.

You tried to tell me Dak was a Top Ten QB back in the day.

Mahomes is obviously better than him, I'll give you that.

So how do you explain Dak Prescott and his drop from his first year to now?
Answer that comes to mind is that Dak is better when he doesn't have to take risks. In '16, the Cowboys were rolling over people with the run game. The pressure wasn't on DP to win games by himself. I thought there would be a bigger difference, but in:

'16, DAL run/yds/avg 499/2396/4.8 yards, Zeke had 322/1631/5.1
'17 DAL run/yds/avg 480/2170/4.5, Zeke 282/983/4.1

EE was out some games with the suspension, then when he came back was averaging 1 yd less per carry. So from 16 -> 17 there was a decline (minor maybe) in run-game production. I really think you'd have to go back and look at in on a game-to-game basis to figure out if Dak was screwing up more in games where he had to throw a lot. Just looking at this year, they've had:

Panthers, L, rushing: 94 (EE 69), Dak (rating) 81.1
Giants, W, rushing: 138 (EE 78), Dak 95.4
Seahawks, L, rushing: 166 (EE 127), Dak 54.5 (2 picks, 1 TD)
Lions, W, rushing: 183 (EE 152), Dak 118.6
Texans, L, rushing: 98 (EE 54), Dak 66.4
Jags, W, rushing: 206, (EE 106), Dak 107.5

The SEA game is an outlier, but you can see the trends: they lose when they're under 100 yds rushing, Dak plays worse when they can't get there.
