Well, looked thar...

Looks like the Braves pitcher is tossing a PERFECT GAME. I wonder if he is aware he is tossing a PERFECT GAME. I bet the rest of the guys in the dugout have pointed it out to him.

Another stellar effort by the hitters.
Of course, with a top 5 like this, it will always be "stellar":
Pablo Sandoval - .291/.315/.651
Aramis Garcia - .167/.286/.667
Brandon Belt - .236/.345/.486
Tyler Austin - .250/.333/.438
Stephen Vogt - .241/.290/.448

One of those 5 is in the minor leagues, two others come off the bench many nights and the top performer just recently got moved into a platoon role. Winning!

I think Sewage pitched decently. He got the bare minimum "quality start"

It's funny, but I remember the interwebs crushing the QS stat by looking at the bare minimum qualification and saying 'any pitcher who give up three runs in six innings isn't quality.'

It echoed the Belt Wars. I wonder how many of those clowns would take 6 and 3 now....

Different day, different game.

For the record, I always liked the QS stat. It was not an end-all-be-all stat, but it was helpful in getting a general idea of a pitchers consistency. PQS is better, but can only be manually calculated, which makes it almost useless.

It’s not hard to compute. I guess I don’t understand your “can only be manually calculated” comment. Wouldn’t that apply to QS too?

If I were curious as to how many QS Bum had in 2014, I could find that out in a grand total of 45 seconds, depending on my connection speed. If I wanted to know his PQS breakdown, I would need to check my schedule for the next hour+. And trying to compare his numbers to the rest of the league? Forget about it.

So yeah. Essentially worthless.

So your position is that PQS is essentially worthless because there isn’t a well known website tallying it and putting it up for your easy consumption. Got it.

That’s the gist of it, yes.

If it isn’t consumable, who cares what it tastes like?

Wasn't PQS created by someone who sells fantasy stat books?
