With all the teams he's been on, I think we can now officially say that Baker Mayfield is a journeyman QB. I had him on my dynasty roster for 1 or 2 weeks earlier in the season. LOL.

Yeah, Baker is a back up at best by now, it seems. When he is 3rd on the depth chart behind Darnold and Walker, that pretty much says all we need to know.

I still think they win the division and win at least one playoff game. The question is after that.

If theres a roster in the NFL that really just needs a game manager type at QB its the Niners. Jimmy has been one of the better third down throwers though so that will no doubt be missed. Key will be making 3rd down as manageable as possible.

nah they will win that division by just finishing 3-2 even if they lose at seattle. unless AZ is the other loss but i dont see AZ doing anything but wanting to go home the last week

The QB market is so bad, maybe, but I don't see it. The GMs who are suckers for second-rate QBs are feeling the Darwin effect. The draft is short on elite-type QBs, but has a lot of decent to good QBs who are cost-effective.

No doubt, I think he'll have suitors regardless. I'm just saying, if he feels like he can play he will want to. Whether he plays again has a lot to do with how the team plays in his absence to close out the year.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) could have a chance to return in "7-8 weeks."​

Garoppolo avoided the Lisfranc injury, as has been speculated for a bit. That 7-8 week timetable would put Garoppolo available at around the Divisional Round or NFC Championship game, assuming they get there. The 49ers will roll with Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson for the time being, something which significantly reduces their chances of surviving long enough to get Garoppolo back on the field.
