49ers - Bears

One team playing for pride, the other for the post season and an opportunity for the Super Bowl is not normally a scenario that I like, but playing at home with a little confidence brought on by the two-game winning streak, I think the 49ers will show fairly well.
The other thing I like is the weak QB on the Bears and the mediocre offense. This gives the 49ers the possibility of matching them on the scoreboard without having to score more than 21 points (as long as the Bears don't score on defense or speecial teams)
I think Mullens will catch hell from the Bears front seven but if Shanahan can scheme something where they can connect on short routes, they might be able to score 16 or 17 points.
If the D holds up and, by some miracle, they create a turnover it might be close.

I'll go with: Bears - 20, 49ers - 16 in a tight one

I'll agree on a somewhat closer game, and the main reason is Trubiskey hasn't lit it up lately. The Bears D seem to be very good, so the 49ers won't score a lot on offense.

We'll need the Bears to turn it over a few times.

You are dreaming brother. The 49ers are in the midst of setting an NFL record for futility where turnovers are concerned. No team in history has been this far into the season with only 5 turnovers to show for it.
If Eddie Jackson remains out for the Bears that will help a little.

Yeah the stats don't lie in this case, the odds are low we'll get turnovers.

Even if its "half-field", if he stays accurate and throws with timing, the offense can move. "Move" meaning there aren't so many 3 and outs.

We shouldn't be throwing long too often anyway, maybe twice a half on average. Back in the Montana years, he didn't throw long very often.

Two really weak defensive holding calls kept this drive alive. One negated the 49ers INT in the end zone.

Horrible red zone offense. Three times inside the 10 but can't get a touchdown. Leading 9 to 7 at the half though. Not all bad. Should be 9 to nothing. Niners got robbed on the holding call on the pick.

That should have been a pass interference penalty. The defender was pulling on his arms long before the ball got there
