A thing that I did notice that I guess we don't take into account anymore is lefty vs lefty.

I have four dominant lefties and his whole lineup is lefties. I mean still great hitters regardless but it makes a difference in a close matchup. (Maybe this matchup wasn't as close to you guys):

Brett hit 38 points lower vs LHP
Ted Williams hit 37 points lower
Speaker hit 11 points lower
Mauer hit 24 points lower
Mccovey hit 30 points lower at .248

Ichiro is the only lefty that actually hit higher vs lefties which is remarkable. Really shows how underrated Ichiro is in these mocks.

I think this is something people would have actually looked at in the past with matchups...now we have gotten to the point we really just go by mainly opinion and nothing else to vote. The voting process has become "lets just get this shit over with".

I am not pointing this out bc I lost bc I lose a lot lol. I think Stakes has one of the best teams in this mock, just pointing it out bc why do we draft if we are going to half-ass the votes and put no thought into this process? Maybe over the years this is just what it has come to.

Great team Stakes :suds:

who are your 4 dominant lefties? I see 2 and a closer. This matchup was ultra close fwiw...I would have had you beating either of the other 2 teams. I went back and forth but liked his lineup a littler better from 5-9. I'll take into account the L/R thing if there's something glaringly obvious but that is not overly high on my totem pole of criteria when I'm voting.

It isn't about Stakes winning it's about the voting process.

I'm not saying that is this is the only factor just an example of something that has dissolved from the voting process. You new guys really didn't see the best of it...just to be clear it was far before you guys joined.

Carlton, Kershaw, Wagner and Hiller

LHB's hit .228 vs Hiller. That is lower than vs Carlton.

I guess I don't see Hiller as someone that Stakes lineup would be dominated by. And he and Wagner are both in the pen so they're only going to see them once every 2 or 3 games for an inning or 2. Kershaw doesn't seem to get the love he deserves in here imo but probably the "playoff series" format that most people use to evaluate these doesn't help him. Loved your 1-2-3 SP rotation and really solid lineup. Also something to think about is that your lineup outside of 3/4 is all righty and his 1-2-3 SP (all great ones) is all RHP. I haven't looked at your splits vs righties and I'll be perfectly honest, I'm just NEVER going to look THAT deep into something before I vote, but on the surface it looks about even with no advantage to either team in that regard. In general I'm prob not a great person to even vote on matchups in this format as I don't know who the back half of the 1920s and 1950s guy even are and I have too much shit going on in my life right now to really care about looking every single guy and stat up and then vote accordingly lol. I'll be the first to admit that I've always said I could really care less about the vote I just like having fun drafting. That said I do try to put at least a little effort into deciding on the matchups, in my mind as fairly as I can.

I negated the advantage of righties and lefties because both teams were a bit heavy on one end or the other. Shane had strong lefty pitching against Stakes strong lefty lineup. Stakes had strong righty pitching against Shane's righty lineup. I didn't dive into the splits of each player because that is a bit much for me to analyze.
