I get minimal enjoyment out of watching Shark. There's something about other starters that I enjoy watching: Bum (no need to really elaborate), DRod (seeing a young guy, redemption story etc.), Pomeranz (new guy, lefty, curveball is pretty nasty), even Holland.

I find no enjoyment out of Shark, even if he's going well.

I do really enjoy watching the Rays. Wish I put a bet on them to win the AL East. I think they've got a great shot.

At least we’re making the opener throw a lot of pitches.

Samesies. Would you say it’s more drafting or farm/teaching?

I think it's mostly been through trades for their roster construction. I like that they're not afraid to try anything too. They just had a 4-man outfield for Belt. They were the first team to use the opener.

It's a breathe of fresh air

Wonder what the Rays are going to do when Stanek's spot comes up? They're going to run out of bench bats quickly, unless he just gives himself up.

Considering how today's starting 8 are hitting so far in 2019, this is how I think the lineup should have been constructed:
Panik
Parra
Duggar
Belt
Longoria
Posey
Crawford
Samardzija
Pillar

Not surprised. That's why I don't like the argument that the fans "aren't ready for a full-rebuild"

If the team sucks, no matter who's out there, the fans will stop coming. And the fact of the matter is this team has sucked for 2.5 years and there's been little roster turnover in that time. Fans are smarter than that, especially when they're paying $100 per person to go.

I don’t really get why Duggar is in right instead of Parra. Parra has (had?) one of the best arms in the game. That gets wasted in left.

I understand Pillar over Duggar in center. For now. Make the new guy comfy in his first week or so. But Duggar needs to eventually push him (within the month).

How many times, last year (and this year moving forward) have the Giants had juice with less than 2 outs and scores zero. Conversely, how many times have the Giants opponent’s had juice with less than 2 outs and scored zero.

I gotta think the Giants conversion rate was much worse than their opponents.

I'd rather have either Pillar or Duggar in right field than Parra, even with his arm. At least when they're playing at home.

Parra gets a chance to show off his arm and he blows it

Is range more important in right than arm?

And Parra ALMOST makes me eat this whole argument...
