I'm going to be at AT&T on Thursday night to watch the game on the big screen with a few thousand fans...should be a gas.

BTW, the new food at the park is pretty damn good.

That's a pretty good crowd. More than some teams get a during a reg. season game.

Now they're asking for $500 per ticket to get on the season ticket waiting list!

Where's ElJim these days. Need to chide him for saying the Giants were tapped out at a payroll of 93 million.

I never got the feeling that ElJ really liked it over here. I think he liked the diversity of opinions better at ESPN. Too bad, he's a good dude. I don't know how he could have been bored over here though with the raptor jesus and whatnot??? ;)

Good to see you back gp.

Forbes latest valuation on the Giants

Highlights:

1-Yr Value Chg. +16%
record revenue ($230 million)
operating income ($30million)
Because the team decided to amortize its stadium costs over 10 years in calculating its local revenue for the league sharing pool, the Giants contribution to lower-revenue teams is going to increase significantly in 2011. <--- for tzill

Hey, thanks for the welcome back. Multimedia capabilities aside, it's still so much better here.

He has been pretty active over at dumdumville the last few days.

I agree that he definitely seemed unimpressed over here, though.

I think he just got tired of the discussions about the ESPN board. I can understand that.

Plus, some people use discussion boards as a place to have a long debate, whether substantive or not. In my experience, the debates here are substantive, yet short, because we agree about a lot of key issues, and can see reason in others' positions.

I don't think ElJim wants to argue for the sake of arguing, but I think he gets more enjoyment out of proving idiots wrong, then coming to agreement with reasonable people. When you get rid of the idiots, where is the fun? We could probably lure him back with some devil's advocate discussions and odes to whiskey.

I like both, but pwning dumdums is very fun and I miss it since my permaban at ESPN. Tito's ban means less to play with over there, but lately Nolan, Marcus, and TrueNiners (with some sfbatgirl and non-Giant fan trolls) are making me chomp at the bit to drop some science. Almost enough to create an alt.

But not quite.

I talked to a friend in the FO about this over the offseason; he was surprised that I remembered about the 10 year paydown of the original loan. On the one hand, our revenue sharing bill is going up, but our operating budget should also expand. This should make it easier to keep Timmy, Cainer, Posey, Chez, Bum, Weez, and Belt.

BTW, and I should probably put this in a separate thread, I've got an extra ticket to Thursday night's opening day extravaganza at AT&T if anyone's interested. A buddy bailed out last minute.

Why not me?! I want this! Unfortunately, I am using all of my vacation time this year on friend and family weddings and a cruise with the in-laws. Have fun.
