Yeah who would have thought those words would ever be spoken!

History doesn't lie. Kershaw does not step up, A decent game here and there in the post season, but 31M per year for 3 years? yikes.

Sevy makes Kershaw look like John Smoltz in the postseason.

Pretty smart business by the Dodgers. They get him for 3 more years and aren't going to be saddled with his mid-30s seasons which are almost certainly not going to be good.

I'm curious if his back even holds ups over the next 3 years.

He'd probably have gotten more if he'd opted out.

He definitely would have got more on the open market. Most baseball front offices aren't captives of the moment.

His back could look like Marty Feldman's in Young Frankenstein in 3 years.....

Joe Sheehan just sent an email to his newsletter about the back.

Says no one has even come back from the surgery he likely needs.

And the only answer is to fix his mechanics and become more biomechanically efficient. For the sake of his back.

The issue is, how do you fix it without messing with his results. No one wants to be the coach who broke Kershaw.
